Word on the street is that the ECT sensors go bad quite regularly on our cars, so I figured I would just pick on up and replace it. There are actually two coolant temp sensors on the B6 A4's.

Please help. if it isn't the temp. sensor you might have a bad thermostat. it's either stuck open or closed. i had a bad tstat and my temp. gauge would stay at 1/4 unless i was going down a mountain pass and then it would be at normal 1/2. thermostat and temp. sensor are the most likely, coolant
