2013 ST, stock (to my knowledge). Owned it for a couple of years now. Have to do emissions test this year to renew registration and it failed due to 4 monitors being "not ready", namely: Fuel System, Oxygen Sensor, Heated O2 sensor, Catalytic Converter. Guy at the testing facility said to drive around more, go to highways, etc.
Fuel System. The fuel system on the 2013 Ford Focus has actually been recalled, because there is an excessive amount of vacuum in the gasoline storage which can cause the engine to stall while you are driving it. The stall would occur without warning, and would not let you restart the vehicle immediately.
I haven’t had issues. Not to say there isn’t issues but a year in with no problems knock on wood. There’s 3 trim levels. All have the same exact performance just different on the inside. St1 cloth seats not a very big screen. St2 cloth lines seats bigger screen. St3 all leather seats and some more goodies I think. It starts to move up when the coolant hits about 110° and shows fully warm at 120° to 125°. The car typically runs in the neighborhood of 200°, so this gauge is meaningless. Yep, but if it suddenly jumps up to the red then there are problems and that is helpful to that extent. Transmission problems are really rare, the earlier model 2013's and early 2014's had some transmission issues. Newer ones don't seem to have the same issue. Engine wise, it's reliable imo. Give any car a bad tune and it'll have issues. The ST 2.0 is reliable until you start pushing past 420whp 2014 Focus ST Synchro problems. Hi everyone. My synchros are wearing It will occasionally grind going into 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th. The worst are 5th and 6th. I can avoid the grinding if I shift reeally slowly. It popped out of 1st twice yesterday as I was trying to get going. I'm not rough, I downshift minimally, and I rarely upshift at any . 514 708 374 369 923 652 829 816
